With the huge international success of A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE Barbara Taylor Bradford won for herself and her heroine, Emma Harte, a devoted readership. HOLD THE DREAM is the sequel to that enormous bestseller ... HOLD THE DREAM is the continuing story of Emma Harte and her granddaughter, Paula McGill Fairley. Emma's favourite, and chosen heir to the mighty Harte-McGill empires, Paula it is who most clearly resembles that extraordinary matriarch of the dynasty. Brilliant, beautiful, a millionairess, Paula wields immense power at the age of 25: yet the conflicts, the tragedies, the loves and losses that afflict her, mirror those in Emma's life. Set in Yorkshire, London, New York and Texas, in great country homes, luxurious penthouses, the boardrooms of the very privileged, this is the story of one woman's determination to 'hold the dream' which was entrusted to her, and in so doing to find the happiness and passion which is her legacy. * About the Author Barbara Taylor Bradford was born in Leeds and became a reporter on the Yorkshire Evening Post at sixteen. By the time she was twenty she was fashion editor on Woman's Own, and worked on several Fleet Street papers before moving to New York and continuing her journalistic career. Her novels A Woman of Substance, Voice of the Heart, Hold the Dream and Act of Will have established her as a storyteller with a worldwide following and a consistent place on the bestseller lists. Both A Woman of Substance and Hold the Dream have been filmed as television mini-series.
