"Russian Painters" Series. Перевод на английский Р. Рознеса, перевод на французский Н. Сахаровой, перевод на немецкий Е. Новгородовой * The Russian artists' specific approach to nature: deeply sensitive, rich in associations and meaning, forms the contribution of the Russian school to world landscape painting. Ivan Shishkin (1831—1898), called the "Rard of the Russian forest", was one of the most outstanding representatives of the Russian landscape school. There are few Russian artists whose works have enjoyed such sincere love from their compatriots for more than a century. Shishkin's rendering of the Russian woodland has in it much of the Russian epic tradition, with its grand style, its heroic spirit, its strong national colouring. Shishkin's best known works are reproduced in this album: Rye, Woodland Scenery, Mast-tree Grove, Rain in the Oak Forest, and others. The album contains an introductory article, 56 colour reproductions of paintings and details, and 12 drawings. ** Албумът съдържа встъпителна статия, 56 цветни репродукции на картини и детайли и 12 рисунки.
