With the cameras going, I looked down at the man. Scabs covered his face and eyes. I found myself wondering what Jesus saw in that blind beggar. ... "Cut!" Ben called out. "Michael, what's the delay here? You're supposed to touch the man's eyes and heal him." The next time I did it right. But for that tiny instant I had felt as if I were looking at someone the way Jesus did, with overwhelming, unconditional love. Michael Hill did not consider himself a religious man before he accepted the leading role in a movie about Jesus of Nazareth. But as he studies the Savior's life, he learns about compassion and stewardship, and his attitudes begin to change. He is able to forgive his exwife, Pamela, and become a better father to his son, Jimmy. And as he falls in love with Kellie Green, an attractive Latterday Saint widow, he discovers the gospel and begins a new life. The Understudy is a sensitive portrayal of a man who finds out what it means to follow the example of the Master. In this heartwarming story, you'll find the vivid characters and witty dialogue that have made Jack Weyland one of the most popular authors in Latter-day Saint fiction. * About the Author Jack Weyland has established himself as a masterful storyteller, a writer with a keen sense of imagination and humor.
