Orphaned at an early age, Jane grew up the hard way, but she was given a new life, a loving family, and a chance to pursue her interest in one of the greatest archaeological finds ever unearthed. Now someone was trying to destroy that new life before it could even get started. The past is returning with the kind of vengeance that knows no mercy. *** About the author Frank Gill Slaughter (February 25, 1908 – May 17, 2001), pen-name Frank G. Slaughter, pseudonym C.V. Terry, was an American novelist and physician whose books sold more than 60 million copies. His novels drew on his own experience as a doctor and his interest in history and the Bible. Through his novels, he often introduced readers to new findings in medical research and new medical technologies. The medical background of Frank Slaughter is evident in much of his work; he received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1930. He uses medical terminology to give his books authenticity. Slaughter began writing as a hobby---first short stories and then novels---and he has also written nonfiction. A fascination with biblical stories led him to write The Road to Bithynina (1951), a book about St. Luke, who was also a physician. Slaughter enjoys research and does many revisions of his manuscripts, and his hard work shows in the well-crafted books he produces. Having more than 60 million books in print testifies to Slaughter's long-lasting popularity in America and abroad.
