Meeting in Paris, during a highly charged week in June are the leaders of the earth’s five major nuclear powers -the United States, Great Britain, Russia, France, and Red China. Behind locked doors, in the grand salon of the Palais Rose, these heads of state gather around a majestic table for the most crucial Summit Conference in history. Their agreement or disagreement will determine the immediate fate of the world. Out of this tense and suspenseful confrontation, Irving Wallace develops The Plot, his most ambitious and exciting novel to date. Dazzling in background, monumental in theme, it breaks through the stately facade of international diplomacy at the Summit, opening up a hive of intrigue among the great-and their seemingly helpless pawns. As the clock ticks, as unspeakable disaster threatens, a group of unusual and fascinating men and women, each drawn to Paris by his own desperate private reasons, converges on the French capital.
