Vanessa Grenville and Liz Enfield could not be more different where background is concerned: Vanessa is beautiful, wealthy and slightly hopeless; Liz is sexy, working-class and ambitious, with her eyes fixed firmly on the top. Modelling brings the pair together and they seem inseparable in the heady days of the 1960s when friendships blossomed on photographic shoots and wild parties filled the nights. Then Vanessa leaves London for New York and falls in love, while Liz marries David Dearing, heir apparent to a newspaper empire. Years later their fates touch again when Vanessa’s daughter Freddie comes to stay with Liz in England. For Liz, however, times have changed. She is now all ’80s woman: face-lifted, power-dressed and immensely energetic. And she’s not sure whether her life has room for Freddie — a Freddie whose appealing insecurity is dangerously attractive to David ... From 1960s London to 1980s New' York, this is a fast-moving, entertaining novel of women linked by love, blood and rivalry a novel which shows Trudi Pacter at her best. * About the Author Trudi Pacter, a former Fleet Street journalist, has been chronicling the lives of the rich and famous for twenty years. She is the highly acclaimed author of three novels, Kiss and Tell, Screen Kisses and The Sleeping Partner. She is married to Baronet Sir Nigel Seely.
