First-time bead crafters-including style-conscious teens-will find inspiration for making necklaces, bracelets, and modish personal accessories. If they choose, they can even learn to make their own beads from a variety of different materials. The book begins with instruction in basic beading methods that include threading, loom weaving, attaching fasteners, embroidery, wirework, tassel-making, and knotting and crocheting. As beginners grow familiar with these clearly explained techniques, they progress through 25 projects that include- A charm bracelet with freshwater pearls A wire bracelet with Venetian style beads A necklace of tumbled rock crystal beads on monofilament Bead decorations for a denim jacket's pockets and seams A customized purse and makeup bag with glued-on buttons and beads and 20 more Focusing on fashion that has appeal to teens and women of virtually all ages, and presented with clear, easy-to-follow, illustrated instructions, Beading for Beginners shows inexperienced bead crafters how to create their own attractive jewelry, purses, tassels, and other items quickly and with a minimum of fuss. Instructive diagrams and chic color illustrations throughout.
